Highland Capital Selects Coventry First to Promote Life Settlements
[Birmingham, AL; July 16, 2002] —
Highland Capital Holding Corporation announced today that they have formed a marketing agreement with Coventry First, the nation’s largest life settlement purchaser. Highland Capital offices will use Coventry First’s services to help their brokers appraise their clients’ life insurance, and if financially appropriate, sell these policies for more than their cash surrender value.
By selecting Coventry First as a preferred choice for life settlements, Highland Capital recognizes a trend in the insurance industry and is on the forefront of the life settlements solution. For any individual whose health is substandard, a policy issued at standard or preferred rates is likely to be worth more than its cash surrender value. An appraisal of these policies is in order whenever a decision regarding a change in coverage is being considered, or simply as part of a routine periodic assessment of the individual's wealth. Life settlements provides a viable solution to these individuals.
"Highland Capital prides itself on providing cutting edge solutions, and life settlements will fit very nicely into that plan,” said Rick Keidan, Senior Vice President and Chief Distribution Officer of Highland Capital. “We have been impressed with Coventry First as they bring a high level of professionalism and experience to the industry and we feel they are a great partner for Highland Capital.”
We are excited to be working with this premiere group of insurance and investment professionals. Highland Capital’s life settlement program is a tremendous opportunity for the Highland Capital offices to increase their revenue and to provide a valuable new service to their clients,” said Reid Buerger, Executive VP of Coventry First.
